Gary Cahill header seals Blues win but Cesc Fabregas is sent off in California
Take Liverpool and Chelsea half way around the world and throw them together in a pre season friendly inside a stadium named after a flower and still they cannot get along.
Cesc Fabregas was sent off for a nasty flying tackle on Liverpool's new Estonian defender Ragnar Klavan, 20 minutes from the end of Chelsea's 1 0 win in the Rose Bowl.
Blues manager Antonio Conte has already talked up his side's potential to challenge for the Premier League title next season and is determined to right the wrongs of last term.
Liverpool, meanwhile, have played only lower league sides in pre season so far and will no doubt be handed a stern test against a Chelsea side with plenty to prove.

Garrett's by the Bridge will close Nov
Garrett's by the Bridge will close Nov
NEW GLASGOW All summer, Eddie MacArthur says he has offered to sell Max Paderno, the cat that lurks around Garrett's http://www.amateurpin.org by the Bridge, greeting customers and picking up treats where he could.
The cost for the fine cat, he told people was $3.4 million.
Joking aside, MacArthur has made the decision to close the business he's worked at since 1958 and owned since 1985. He'll close the doors to the public Nov. 30.
MacArthur said the time has come to retire and move on to the next juncture of his life.
He has struggled with a nagging hip injury from a fall he had in 1992 and said he finds it difficult getting to the store, particularly in winter.
The blue building, which sits at the corner of George Street and Riverfront Boulevard in New Glasgow, has long been a part of the landscape. Founded in 1892 by John E. Garrett, the business was the original factory site for the famed Bluenose hooked rug patterns. Those driving by the store would be hard pressed to miss the word "Antiques" that was written right onto the shingles, and at one time there was also a wagon on the roof. One seasonal tradition: people would trade the skates they had outgrown for new ones. On the shelves are ornaments, bottles and books and a host of other items that beg those who enter the doors to linger and admire.
MacArthur had been taught by one of founder John Garrett's sons and when the man took over, he was asked to do the bookkeeping. What started as part time work, turned into a lifelong career for MacArthur.
He remembers how the building looked when he started with rooms sectioned http://www.arabcarsales.co.uk off which he has since opened up. Downstairs the hooked rug patterns were still being made.
In those days a lot of their stuff was bought at estate sales.
"We'd load the half ton truck up as high as it could go for $200 or $300 in those days," he said.
A love of antiques was nurtured, if not born, from his work there. He quickly learned what it took to make the good finds. While other buyers were chatting with each other, he would root through the boxes that would later be sold.
"You never knew what kind of treasure you were going to get," he said.
While he's picked up some rarities and the occasional lucky find, if there were any priceless pieces, they were sold before he knew what they were, he said.
MacArthur admits there will probably be days he'll miss the place, and if it weren't for the trouble getting around he's had since his injury, he'd keep it going for a while longer. But such is not the case.
Everything must go. Garrett's by the Bridge was founded in 1892 by John E. Garrett
The well known Bluenose Rug Hooking Machine was invented and patented at the store 1926 by John. E. Garrett. Garrett's was not the first or only producer of hooking patterns in Nova Scotia, but it was the largest and longest in operation.

defending the Eagle and the new trade block crew
keep playing the same way. We couldn sit back and let them come to us. you look at the shot clock (17 3 in the third), or if you watched the game, you were probably left yelling at clouds because you think the Canucks sat back.
That not how the captain saw it butwe get into that in a bit.
The third period was a beautiful disaster.
The beautiful part only applies if you are one of those hoping for big changes and a high draft pick.
Third periods like this one tonightget you both.
The Canucks have lost in many ways this season, but this was the first point they lost to sheer panic.
Willie thinks he made the right call because he saved his timeout until late.
He did needit after Loui Eriksson iced the puck when the the Canucks weregetting worked by Toews and Kane.
There were just a couple of minutes leftand he had to give the Michael Chaput line a breather after that icing.
But with last change and two minutes left in a tie game, why the hellis someone named Chaput on the ice in a head to head matchup with Toews and Kane anyway?
When it was over. Henrik Sedin was hoarse, mostlyfrom yelling at his teammates to calm the eff down in athird that will be remembered for the rest of the season.
weren able to stay calm on the ice, the captain admitted.
they got their first, we got away from doing our thing. Canucks thing, by the way, is sitting back. They been dining on the trap all year, calling it structure.
When thecoach and the GM love the Canucks structure, they http://www.newryofficesupplies.co.uk are saying they love the trap.
But there was no Canucks trap in thatthird. Instead, itwas a mess, and there were playerswho had no clue how to fix it or what to do next.
were stressed when they had the puck for 20 25 seconds. We started chasing instead of staying on the inside and letting them, including Kane, have the puck.
first 40 minutes we kept them to the outside. http://www.jobsinbeeston.co.uk If you do that, it tough to score goals. But we started chasing. the Canucks started chasing up 3 1 is anyone guess, but it pretty indicative of just how fragilethis team is.
Is there anything theycould have been done differently? Wouldan earlier timeout have helped:
don know, Henrik said. uhm, that not for me to say. worry, you just did.
The game is tied. The opposing goalie has lost his glove and his hiding his barehand behind his back.
Sutter has a glorious chance in front. Sutter is a right shot.
Darling makes a save with his blocker.
Willie struggled to explain this one tonight. He struggled. Boy, did he struggle
key was at the blueline. We had to win that battle at the blueline, he said.
don know how many times they kept pucks in and we were within two feet of the blueline to get it out and they kept it in.
Defender Tom Parkes becomes Carlisle United's fourth summer signing
Defender Tom Parkes becomes Carlisle United's fourth summer signing
"He's had promotions with Bristol Rovers and has seen the other side of it with a relegation last season with Leyton Orient, which was because of the off field situations they found themselves in.
"He's got good experience, is a good talker and good communicator, wants to work and has come in very, very hungry."
Parkes, born in Sutton http://www.mercedesdpfdelete.co.uk in Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, made 44 appearances for Orient last season as the London club, under the controversial ownership of Francesco Becchetti, lost their place in the EFL.
He had a happier time at previous club Bristol Rovers, making 190 appearances in a four year period that saw the Pirates promoted from the National League and then from League Two.
He joined Rovers in 2012 from Leicester, where he failed to break into the first team but enjoyed loan spells at Yeovil and Burton.
He initially moved to Bristol Rovers on loan before making his move permanent.
Although just 25, he has already chalked up 267 career appearances, scoring nine goals.
Curle has been seeking reinforcements in defence since the departure of centre half Michael Raynes to Crewe.
United's manager is keen to improve the Blues' defensive record in 2017/18.
Curle, meanwhile, is set to welcome some trialists onto the training ground between now and the weekend.
The Blues boss said: "Because we have had a shorter break over the summer, it was important the incoming players and the players already here could reintroduce themselves with fewer distractions and other personnel in the latter stage of last week and the early stages of this week.
"I'm trying to put my stamp on the players signed and here, and reinforcing that, as well as we did last season, there's still room for improvement.
"Sometimes it is easier to get that over to a smaller http://www.oboyfoundation.co.uk number, but in the latter stages of this week, a few trialists are going to come in.
"It's important they bed in quickly and get shown the ropes of what the standard is and what is required."

Bungalow with beautiful views
Bungalow with beautiful views
A detached split level bungalow, well cared for and with delightful gardens, is for sale in a sought after village set in lovely Cumbrian countryside.
The home in Castle View, Hayton, was bought as a new build more than 30 years ago by Clive and Pauline Parker whose children, two sons http://www.botshop.org and a daughter, have now married and are living away with the couple's three grandchildren.
"I was working over the border at a company called Cochran Boilers which for a time was part of Rolls Royce. We were looking around for a property, trying to get somewhere that was convenient for the travel, and were being sent lots of brochures from estate agents.
"We kept coming back to Hayton. We bought our house from new 31 years ago and we've done a tremendous amount to it since then.
"It was originally a four bedroom property and we've converted one of the bedrooms to a family bathroom with walk in shower. The original bathroom was incorporated into what became an en suite for the master bedroom."
"Our favourite room is probably the lounge because it has great views across the Solway to Criffel," Clive said. "There's a saying that if it's raining you can't see Criffel and if you can see Criffel it's about to rain!
"The garden is so secluded, it's unbelievable there's a farmer's field behind and a copse off to the right as you look at it.
"We love sitting there. It's low maintenance with lawn, shrubs and trees and the whole plot is 0.2 of an acre. Being on the corner plot adds to the seclusion and we're not overlooked at either the front or the back."
The property is approached along a private driveway which provides ample off road parking alongside a double garage.
An entrance vestibule has steps up to a hallway where http://www.personalhealthorganiser.co.uk there is a convenient storage cupboard with hanging space and shelves.
The bright and modern lounge is a good sized room with two windows overlooking the front garden and patio doors to the rear. There is a separate dining room and a breakfasting kitchen fitted with a good range of units. Integrated appliances include microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and washer dryer.
There are three bedrooms, the en suite master having fitted wardrobes, as does the other double bedroom. The four piece family bathroom has a double shower cubicle. There is also a separate cloakroom with tiled walls and floors.
Clive said: "The house has only just gone on the market but we've had a couple of viewings and they both said the same thing that it was stunning and in top notch condition."
The Parkers, who are both retired, are reluctantly moving from Hayton as they want to live somewhere smaller and without any stairs.
As well as being situated in lovely surroundings, the village has excellent links for the Eden Valley, Hadrian's Wall and the Lake District National Park.

The Rays tied it at 3 in third when Dickerson had a two run drive before Longoria went deep on Bundy's next pitch.

Orioles: RHP Chris Tillman (1 5, 8.39 ERA) makes his 10th start since returning from right shoulder bursitis in the series finale Sunday. A research and development Blueprint for action to prevent epidemics
WHO is developing a web based tool to facilitate discussions between parties and ensure that all those involved with negotiating the movement of samples are empowered to protect their interests. The tool specifically addresses benefit sharing, and discusses in detail possible approaches that can be used to share samples and benefits on the same footing. It provides concrete, real world examples of how these can be embedded in an MTA. The public consultation on the draft MTA tool text content closed on 16 June. http://www.hookeygin.uk A first version of the draft online tool will be made available for consultation later this year.
